The Tevis family is guided by the tradition of personal service that Stanley Tevis started in 1932. That was the year Stanley's management job at Gulf Oil was eliminated because of the Depression. A native of Philadelphia, Stanley decided to move his family to Westminster to start an oil distributorship. Before he brought gasoline, fuel oil and burner service to this area, all deliveries to central Maryland had come from Frederick, Md.
