RiverD International develops Raman spectroscopic instruments for in vivo and ex vivo tissue analysis. Our technology provides solutions for unmet diagnostic needs, without the need for reagents, labels, dyes or other contrast-enhancing agents. Our two main areas of activity are skin analysis and surgery Skin Analysis RiverD pioneered and introduced non-invasive, in vivo analysis by means of confocal Raman microspectroscopy in 2004. The patented technology enables the determination of molecular concentrations as a function of distance to the skin surface. It has become an established and highly valued tool for the characterization of skin at a molecular level and for testing penetration and permeation of personal care products and pharmaceuticals. The gen2-SCA is the second generation of skin composition analyzers has much enhanced capabilities and performance, and was introduced in 2013. Atopic dermatitis RiverD is currently developing a dedicated version of its' skin analyzer for rapid non-invasive assessment of a newborn's predisposition for development of atopic dermatitis. This is based on determination of the concentration of Natural Moisturizing Factor in the stratum corneum.
