What Is Oklahoma Safety Council?

The OSC was established in 1947 as a privately supported, non-profit organization to act as the central headquarters for all Oklahoma safety activities. The OSC plays a vital role in the safety field by doing the following: •Coordinate safety activities in all fields. •Promote better legislation for accident prevention. •Improve engineering and enforcement techniques on both state and local levels. •Conduct conferences and meetings designed to eliminate the cause of accidental injury and death. •Act as the state contact for the National Safety Council. •Establish and guide local safety councils. •Advise cities, businesses and individuals on safety problems. Today, the OSC has a membership base of more than 600 businesses throughout the state of Oklahoma. Some of its members include, OG&E, Integris Health, Johnson Controls, The Noble Foundation, Chesapeake Energy, ConocoPhillips, AEP/PSO, ONEOK, Love's Travel Stops and SandRidge Energy, Inc.
