In 1985, High Plains Baptist Hospital, private physicians, and other health care providers joined forces in Amarillo to combat the rising costs of health care. They were looking for a way to guarantee the highest quality of health care services possible while controlling the cost. Today, FIRSTCARE is successful in providing quality, cost effective health care services and benefits to over 107,000 Texans represented by more than 1100 group clients, through a service area encompassing 108 counties in North Texas, Central Texas and West Texas. FIRSTCARE has Regional Offices in Abilene, Amarillo, Lubbock and Waco to provide prompt and convenient customer service to both clients and providers.
