What Is Coordinated Youth and Human Services?

Coordinated Youth and Human Services is not only who we are, but it is also what we do – coordinating human services for youth and families in need. Since 1944, CYHS has been coordinating and working to improve the lives of those in need. The agency started when a need was seen among youth whose fathers were serving in World War II. As the needs of the community changed over the years, so has the response and programs coordinated at CYHS. CYHS provides services at three locations in Madison County, including the Educational Enhancement Program for at-risk youth, maternal health programs for pregnant women and young children, community prevention programs, and the MadCAP program for those affected by HIV / AIDS. While much has changed since those small beginnings in 1944, our mission remains the same.
