Thomas M. Hodgson has been the Sheriff of Bristol County since 1997. The Sheriff's Office is made up of several facilities and divisions. The main hub is the Dartmouth campus on Faunce Corner Road, which features the Bristol County House of Correction, the Women's Center, an ICE detention facility as well as administrative offices and other departments. The Sheriff's Office also manages and operates the Ash Street Jail, the oldest operating jail in the U.S., in New Bedford and its regional lock-up.
