Our goal at Wild Planet Foods is to educate and inspire consumers to make wise choices that will result in immediate health benefits for themselves and their families and a positive, long-term impact on our planet. With this in mind, Bill Carvalho, our founder, had a vision for how to affect positive change and for the last 30 years he has been at the forefront of the sustainable seafood industry. Wild Planet Foods was the result of his vision for a superior line of seafood products that are excellent in flavor, provide unsurpassed nutrition and are sourced according to the highest environmental standards. In fact, Wild Planet been recognized year after year by Greenpeace for its practices and we’ve even served as the mentor guiding the environmental standards at some of the nation’s most influential grocers. However, Wild Planet isn’t solely focused on providing delicious food. We’re working to make a positive difference in the biodiversity of the oceans. We use pole & line catch methods and we encourage the consumption of a broad array of seafood so that people eat lower in the food chain. Both of these actions help to preserve and regenerate the oceanic environment. We also partner with dedicated, small-scale fishing boats and canneries around the world who are experts at their craft and whose work drives the local economy. All of us here at Wild Planet deeply appreciate the wild ecosystems upon which life depends. These ecosystems of wild oceans and organic land feed and nourish all of us and it’s all of our jobs to care for them in return.
