Vector's history with metering began with its ownership of Stream and NGC before establishing Advanced Metering Services (AMS) in 2007. In 2020, AMS was rebranded as Vector Metering, bringing it in line with Vector's other businesses to create affordable and seamless energy solutions that put our customers' needs at the centre.We created the advanced metering category in New Zealand and manage over two million advanced electricity and gas meters across NZ and Australia providing data services to our customers. Once nothing more than a way to record usage, now a near ‘real-time’ delivery of big data is enabling new and innovative retail products that give customers large and small the ability to make smarter decisions and deliver future-ready energy solutions.Like every business in the Vector group, our focus is on making it safe and easy for customers to operate, ongoing innovation, helping businesses succeed and enabling decarbonisation.
