Founded in 1976, Valley Montessori School is a nationally recognized model Montessori school providing excellence in education for children 18 months through 8th grade. Located in an idyllic wine-growing region east of San Francisco, our expansive six-acre hilltop campus overlooks the Livermore valley and includes buildings thoughtfully designed to be a state-of-the-art Montessori school. Our exceptional teachers respect the imagination, mind and heart of each child by creating an environment where children are inspired to realize their academic, personal and social potential. VMS offers low student-to-teacher ratios and is the largest not-for-profit, and only triple accredited school in California. We are fully accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS) with non-traditional Montessori age groupings at the Upper Elementary and Middle School Levels, the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In addition, VMS is a Certified California Green Business making us the only school in the Tri-Valley and just one of three in the state of California with this distinguished honor.
