What Is Target Excellence?
Target Excellence was founded based our founder, Keith Herron’s, experiences as a youth. “I was not the best student in High School and had no plans for the future that were close to the potential that I could achieve. My life was changed forever by a counselor who voluntarily reached out, gave encouragement, and helped me plan for the future.†Upon graduation, Keith worked as an engineer for the California Department of Transportation. While working there he was asked to speak to High School students about science. “This was my ah-ha moment and the birth of Target Excellence. It was so easy and enjoyable that I did it for free. Soon I received so much recognition for my work that people paid me!!†Target Excellence dedicated to administering quality programs (not just babysitting) that help kids to identify their vision. It starts with an expectation that may be higher than what a student expects for themselves. The next important step is to make sure we have some type of daily, weekly, quarterly, and yearly plan in place that everyone and anyone can understand. Kids learn quicker when there is a set plan or routine in place, similar to sports or the military. The last thing we need to do is measure to make sure we are effective and make changes in area where we can improve.
