What Is Take Eat Easy?

Belgian owned premium food delivery company Take Eat Easy reached a landmark milestone in its history when it achieved 1 million successful deliveries across all four of its markets (France, Belgium, Spain and UK) on July 12th 2016. What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that company did this on comparatively small budgets versus the competition. Benchmarking against it closest competitor, Take Eat Easy raised €16 million in fundraising in 2015 versus Deliveroo, who by comparison, raised €200 million in 2015. 2016 also saw the launch of UberEats into the marketplace, backed of course by its parent company and modern day unicorn, Uber. Take Eat Easy's geographical dominance in France has been a significant factor in the brand's success to date, which has included the launch of eight new French cities in 2015/16 to make 13 in total. Belgium also increased its presence to four cities in 2016, including both French and Dutch speaking parts of the country, and Spain now operates in three key cities. In the UK, London was successfully launched in February 2016. As with all start-up businesses however, funding underpins any company's growth and with the launch of UberEats into the mainstream marketplace and with the impending launch of Amazon into the premium food delivery sector, investors understandably want to see the impact of these two giants entering the market. Despite its huge and recent successes therefore, this represents a very real problem for a company that's reliant on investors in its early growth stages. As such, it is with huge disappointment for all its staff, restaurants, partners and investors that Take Eat Easy ceased trading at the end of July 2016. The founders of Take Eat Easy would like to say a huge thanks to all those involved and feel proud to have been such a key influence in the transformation of the food delivery sector.
