Sonoma Academy is a high school founded in the 21st century to provide a 21st century education, Our unique program, people, and place result in a synergy we call the SA Effect. The result?  Students who are creative, ethical, and committed to learning. They engage with the surrounding community, communicate across cultures and learn how to become leaders in a dynamic world. These goals are all in our mission statement and are seen in our graduates. Current and future global issues will require leaders who can negotiate complex problems and work with others to develop solutions. We prepare our students to become this type of leader through a combination of our interdisciplinary programâ_"which draws connections among disciplinesâ_"and our teaching styleâ_"which involves students actively in discussion, collaboration and problem solving. Our graduates know how to think, to express themselves, and how to put ideas together in new and generative ways. In addition Sonoma Academy students develop creativity, flexibility, and moral courageâ_"the ability to know and do the right things. Students and teachers have a strong commitment to each other and to learning. In this community, students develop the confidence to discover what their contributions can be and a willingness to share them.
