The Netherlands based Robin Radar Systems is technology leader in radar systems for tracking and classification of small targets. We do that by combining affordable sensors with smart software. Our mission is to provide actionable information that increases safety. Bird Strike Prevention in Aviation We developed bird radar systems to monitor and store bird movements around the clock up to 10 kilometers all around. The information is dispatched real time onto tablets in Bird Control Vehicles as well as logged for analysis afterwards. This significantly enhances the Bird Controller's awareness and provides management information about trends, new hotspots and the overall effectiveness in terms of objective KPI's. Bird Monitoring in Wind Farms In a growing amount of cases, a permit to build a wind farm is given under the pre-condition that bird movements are being monitored 24/7 during pre and post construction of the park. Then a bird radar becomes a permanent part of the wind farms infrastructure. In some cases a 'start-stop-mechanism is required: the Robin system monitors the amount of bird movements in real time and is able to automatically shut down individual turbines to mitigate mortality. Drone Detection in Critical Environments Small Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAV's) or drones result in new opportunities as well as threats and incidents. Hence a new demand for drone detection and intervention methods. We developed a purpose built drone detection radar called Elvira that can automatically distinguish birds from drones. The system is sold via larger system integrators in the defense & security industry.
