What Is Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy?

Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy is an academy providing places for both Catholic and non-Catholic students aged 11-18 and is part of the Pope John XXIII Catholic Multi Academy Company. Students from Our Lady and St Chad are unique. They understand the importance of learning and growing in an environment where gospel values and virtues are implicit in policy, curriculum, wider academy experiences and expectations. The culture at Our Lady and St Chad strives to create resilient, compassionate, curious and aspirational learners with a sense of moral integrity. Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy has a vibrant sixth form with students developing academically and contributing to the Academy and wider community. Sixth form students are nationally renowned as leaders and volunteers through their work with Youth Sport Trust, the local community and in Lourdes as part of the Birmingham Diocesan Pilgrimage. Since being designated as a Specialist Sports College in 2005, the Academy has used sport to inspire coaches, officials, leaders and elite performers. Staff at our Academy demand high expectations, work hard to inspire curiosity and develop resilience in our students. We seek to provide the highest quality of teaching and constantly challenge young people to excel and be the best they can be. We place great emphasis on enriching and enhancing the learning of our young people by encouraging them to try new challenges and experiences. This will help to develop them as individuals beyond their classroom based academic studies. Staff at the Academy gain huge satisfaction from dedicating time, energy and expertise to develop passions that will last a life time. "Students are proud of their school, behave well and show respect for each other, for staff and their environment" (Ofsted)
