Norton Lilly International, Inc., through its subsidiary companies, is engaged in the business of ship agency services, logistics, brokerage, vessel planning and other marine activities.\r\n\r\nNorton Lilly International was founded in 1841 as the Norton Company, giving NLI the distinct title of being the oldest ship agency company in the United States. NLI and its related companies provide services for all types of liner, bulker, tanker, reefer and passenger vessels, and handles over 20,000 port calls per year, assuring ship owners and operators the widest range of representation, along with the highest level of service. In 1999, J. Schley Rutherford and H. W. Thurber, III purchased Strachan Shipping Agency with the intention of expanding and improving Port Agency services and service areas within the US. In 2002, Norton Lilly International was acquired by Mr. Rutherford and Mr. Thurber, bringing together three of the most well-established and well-respected companies in the ship agency business (Strachan Shipping Agency, Kerr Norton Marine and Norton Lilly International). Creating one of the largest providers of agency services in North America. Our commitment to serving our principal's needs is stronger than ever.
