What Is Northwest Pipe Company?
Northwest Pipe Company manufactures welded steel pipe in two business segments, water transmission and tubular. The Company's water transmission segment manufactures and markets large-diameter, high-pressure steel pipe used primarily for water transmission. Water transmission products are custom manufactured in accordance with project specifications and are used primarily for high-pressure water transmission pipelines in the United States and Canada. The Company's tubular products segment manufactures and markets smaller-diameter, electric-resistance-welded steel pipe for use in a wide range of construction, agricultural, energy and industrial applications. In addition, the Company produces propane tanks from its manufacturing facility in Monterrey, Mexico. In 2002, water transmission and tubular products revenues represented approximately 66% and 34% of the Company's net sales, respectively.
