Newhall School District The Newhall School District is comprised of ten elementary schools and 6,300 preschool through sixth grade students who reside in Newhall, Valencia, Stevenson Ranch, and Westridge. Over time our district has gained a reputation for excellence and is held in high regard throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. The Arts are Alive in NSD It’s not all about the basics because the arts are alive in NSD! The district takes great pride in its 35+ year-old music program. Students of all grades are taught vocal music, learn to play the recorder in third grade, and have the opportunity to move on to a robust and vibrant instrumental music program in grades 4-6. Our visual arts teacher instructs 4th and 5th grade students to build a working knowledge of the elements of art, which are the foundation of artistic perception and creative expression.
