What Is National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering?

NACME provides leadership and support for the national effort to increase the representation of successful African American, American Indian, and Latino young women and men in engineering, technology, math- and science-based careers. Since 1974, the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering has worked with America’s leading corporations to sustain and increase the pool of minority students from under-served communities who seek careers in engineering. Over the last 41 years, NACME has spent more than $142 million in scholarship and support services for more than 24,000 African American, Latino, and American Indian young women and men at 160 colleges and universities. These students have gone on to assume important roles in our nation’s engineering workforce.
