What Is Morrissey-Compton Educational Center?

The Morrissey-Compton Educational Center is a not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) organization established over 30 years ago by Patricia Morrissey and Carolyn Compton. It is the mission of the Morrissey-Compton Educational Center to enable children and adults with learning disabilities and school-related difficulties to achieve their goals by providing the highest quality diagnostic and intervention services in a supportive environment. • Through our assessment and consultation services, we help our clients understand their learning styles and areas of strengths and weaknesses. Every assessment is individualized to the client based on their concerns and the results are then used to help formulate a plan to help the client succeed in school or their job. • Our highly trained clinicians offer tutoring and therapy services to children of various ages with a variety of learning difficulties as we as social and emotional problems. • Morrissey-Compton’s educational services extend to the Santa Clara County Departments of Child and Family Services and Juvenile Probation. These services include consultation and training to social workers, probation officers, judges, and lawyers regarding the educational needs of foster children and juvenile offenders. • In our Palo Alto location, we offer group therapy that is specifically designed for the needs and goals of each participant. These groups run for 12 weeks and include managing impulsive behavior, conquering anxiety, and emotional regulation
