When it was founded, MEC assisted Kansas City homeowners with managing their energy use. We have since evolved into a regional catalyst for wide-ranging community partnerships focused on energy conservation, environmental stewardship and economic improvement. MEC contributes to the economic vitality and quality of life in the Kansas City metro and the surrounding region. Every energy dollar conserved through MEC's work remains available for investment in the local economy, creating jobs and economic well-being. The reduced use of fossil fuels cuts pollution and preserves a cleaner regional environment. Our programs include Clean Transportation, Alternative Fuels, Building Performance, the Energy Solutions Hub, Energy Education, Kansas City Regional Clean Cities, Central Kansas Clean Cities, and Project Living Proof.
