What Is LifePsychol?

LifePsychol provides expert Clinical Psychology services in relation to parenting, children and families. We have a special expertise when it comes to children with complex needs, such as Looked After and adopted children and those receiving services from children's social care. We offer specialist assessments and services to help improve placements and services, incorporating knowledge about mental health, attachment relationships and neuroscience, along with training, consultancy and service improvement. Our main focus is on improving outcomes for complex children, particularly those receiving services from children's social care. That starts with understanding the needs and challenges of this population, including behaviour, mental health, attachment/relationships and development. We make the BERRI outcome metric and accompanying online tool set for mapping the needs of complex children and tracking how they change over time. Our tools help improve carer insight into the needs of the child, help placement and service providers to evidence their efficacy, and commissioners to purchase the right placements and services. The other services we offer include expert witness work (including psychological assessments of parents and children for the family court), consultancy, research, training and therapy. We help organisations (particularly those working with young people or attempting to have a positive effect on mental health and wellbeing) to evaluate their social impact.
