What Is Las Positas College?

Las Positas College Offers "Extreme Makeover"-Type Course "Design Your Space" Course Allows Students to Design a Room with Help from Professionals and Classmates (Livermore, CA) - Taking a cue from the fastest growing cable network, the Home and Garden Television Channel which is viewed by 80 million households, Las Positas College (LPC) in Livermore is offering a new hands-on spring course entitled "Design Your Space". Taught by instructor and interior designer Jill Hornbeck, the class gives students an opportunity to redesign one room in their home with the talents of a professional designer and an eight-person crew known as "design mates". The course is open to all Livermore residents through the Community Education program. The first meeting of class on Thursday, February 10 takes place from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in room 2014 on campus. Each subsequent Thursday class will be held at a different student's home to makeover one room. Students are required to bring two sets of photos of the room to the first class, during which time a schedule will be determined for the next nine weeks of class. Each week, class will meet at a different home and redo a room for 2-1/2 hours, with a final 1/2-hour for discussion of the following week.
