Under the continuing direction of the Latham family, the business - whose\ncurrent management team includes a number of ninth generation family members\n- has developed into an industry leader in panel products, hardwood,\njoinery-quality softwood, performance doors, solid surface, cladding and\ndecking and now offers probably the most comprehensive and varied product\nrange available in the UK market.\n\nLatham's wide-ranging portfolio includes some of the most recognised brands\nin the world, many of them on an exclusive or semi-exclusive basis, all from\na single source and available nationwide, thanks to its 10-strong network of\ndepots.\n\nWith such an impressive and rich history, James Latham has witnessed and\noften participated in, some of the major historical and technological\ndevelopments of the last two and a half centuries and this has moulded the\nbusiness into an extremely forward-looking organisation. \n\nResponding to the changing market landscape and catering not only for the\nrapidly growing number of architects and designers within its customer base\nbut also the increase in specification contracts from both the commercial\nand residential sectors, the business opened a showroom in central London in\n2016. This year, it has also invested almost £15m in two state-of-the-art,\npurpose-built sites in Bristol and Leicester, increasing capacity in both\nlocations by 35 percent.\n\nJames Latham's commitment to environmental best practice is paramount and\nremains at the core of its business strategy. The company will only source\nmaterials from suppliers who are operating within the laws of their own\ncountry. The company is also a member and supporter of the Timber Trade Federation\nand was the first signatory to the Federation's Responsible Purchasing\nPolicy. All James Latham's depots are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) and\nProgramme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC®) certified.
