What Is IPART - Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal?

IPART - the Independent Pricing & Regulatory Tribunal - provides independent regulatory advice and decisions to protect and promote the ongoing interests of the consumers, taxpayers and citizens of NSW. We are the independent pricing regulator for water, public transport, local government, electricity and gas industries, as well as the licence administrator of water, electricity and gas and the scheme administrator and regulator for the NSW Energy Savings Scheme. We also undertake reviews and investigations into a wide range of economic and policy issues and perform a number of other roles at the NSW Government's request. We are a NSW government agency, but we make our decisions independently of the Government.
