Dovetail is a full service, woman-owned Cultural Resource Management firm headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Dovetail was founded in 2005 by its principals, Kerri Barile and Mike Carmody, who have decades of experience working with cultural resources across the United States. The company has grown to over 40 staff members, including archaeologists, architectural historians, historians, historic preservation planners, Graphic Information System (GIS) and Computer Aided Design (CAD) specialists, and administrative professionals. The company is certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. Dovetail has undertaken a wide variety of cultural resource projects across all client sectors, including transportation-related projects, utility projects, municipal improvements, governmental projects (DOD, COE, GSA, NPS), and private developments.
