About Greater Dandenong Located just 35 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD on the Monash Freeway, Greater Dandenong is a dynamic and thriving area and Melbourne's second largest municipality. Greater Dandenong is recognised as the capital of the south east and is Victoria's manufacturing heartland.
