Cawthron Institute is New Zealand’s largest independent science organisation. Our science is helping protect the environment and underpin development in primary industries. We work with regional councils, Government departments, major industries, private companies and individual clients, adding value to their projects and initiatives through smart science. Our scientists have unique expertise in aquaculture research, coastal and freshwater resource management, food safety and quality, algal technologies, biosecurity and analytical testing.
