Thompson, Inc., established in 1971, and Commercial Testing Laboratories, established in 1947. \n\nCTL has offices in six cities in Colorado and one in Wyoming. The largest geotechnical engineering firm headquartered in Denver, CTL | Thompson, Inc. has over 240 full-time employees with seasonal variation. Approximately 190 of these individuals are professional or technical. Our staff includes Geotechnical, Materials, Environmental and Structural Engineers, Engineering Geologists, and certified environmental professionals. We have completed more than 80,000 projects over the past 47 years. Projects range from major infrastructure systems in both the private and public sectors to single family dwellings.\n\nCTL | Thompson offers a wide range of geotechnical and geologic expertise for preliminary design, final design, and forensic evaluations. Our engineers, geologists, and environmental specialists can provide geologic mapping and hazard analysis, shallow and deep foundation design, expansive soil evaluations, and groundwater investigations including de-watering studies and pump tests. Our staff includes engineers and geologists with specific expertise in the evaluation of seismicity using either shear wave velocity or micro tremor methods, slope and earth retainage, including design of remedial measures using mechanically stabilized earth, soil nailing, and tie-back structures in addition to more traditional earth retaining systems.
