Ben Lippen is a ministry of Columbia International University and is a Christian college preparatory school offering day school instruction for grades K4 through 12. Ben Lippen School seeks to glorify God by assisting the family and church in equipping students spiritually, academically and socially under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Ben Lippen is a Scottish phrase meaning Mountain of Trust. Founded in 1940 in Asheville, North Carolina, Ben Lippen moved to Columbia, South Carolina, in 1988 to be located on the campus of CIU. Ben Lippen's resident program offers boarding opportunities to students from around the world who live on campus and provide our day students the opportunity to mix with students from other cultures. These international students comprise 15-20% of our high school student body. What a privilege it is to be part of a quality school with a global influence for Jesus Christ! Ben Lippen is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Ninety-eight percent of our graduates go on to higher education each year and our students consistently receive academic achievement awards and scholarships.
