What Is Aspiring Interns?
We are a UK-based student-led initiative aiming to bridge the gap between incoming university students and first-year internship/equivalent opportunities in all mainstream city professions. Aspiring Interns' USP is our diverse team of students from across the UK with proven track-records in securing their respective first-year internships/equivalents. Having recent first-hand experience with the issues we aim to tackle enables us to relate on a more personal level and thus do so effectively. Our Purpose (The 3 E's): To EDUCATE, To EMPOWER, To ENRICH. We have 3 primary services/products: Programmes | Insights | Resources. 1) Programmes: A structured 8 week plan where candidates are put into small groups and pairedᅢツᅡᅠwith an officer (current university student in our team)ᅢツᅡᅠwho has recent first-hand experience with successfully securing their respective first-year internships/equivalents. This bespoke guidance covers all aspects of the application process as well as allowingᅢツᅡᅠcandidates to expand their professional network and deepen their understanding of their respective industry. 2) Insights: A video podcast series interviewing leading professionals covering their area of expertise and career journey, and a blog series composed of our team's experiences interning at specific firms. This exposure into different professions at different levels will help candidates, in particular those who are unsure of what their future entails, establish what they might want to pursue in the future. 3) Resources: A collection of tools that will aid candidates through the application process. This includes an applicationsᅢツᅡᅠtimeline containing deadlines for the industry leaders,ᅢツᅡᅠa compiled list of useful resources to develop an understanding of current affairs, a page that demystifies what specific divisions and roles entail within the industry,ᅢツᅡᅠand quick snippets of our team's personal application tips and advice with specific firms.
