Standing at six feet four inches, Dawan Owens for some reason has never had a problem commanding an audience’s attention. Named a finalist in Comedy Central’s Open Mic Fight national comedy competition, a series regular on the Comedy Central’s Bobby Lee Project (Pilot), playing numerous characters on BET’s #1 Show, Hell Date (where Punk’d meets dating) and now as recurring role on Comedy Central’s new show Secret Girlfriend, Dawan has been making his mark in the comedy world. He’s performed at the Comedy Playground, a weekly variety show at the famed Laugh Factory, and in comedy clubs all over the country. He made his Film debut in, Are You Serious? directed by Emmy Award Nominee, Rick Walls. Dawan has worked with some of the funniest comics in the business including Bill Burr, Tracy Morgan, Bobby Lee and David Alan Grier to name a few. Dawan’s comedy is a blend of clean, clever observations, political incorrectness and downright silliness, but no matter the topic, he delivers it with a confidence making it almost impossible not to enjoy.
