A. J. Padelford & Son, Inc. Even our name exemplifies tradition and quality. After all, Arthur James is our grandfather and great-grandfather. We know he would be proud that the small construction business he started during the Depression to build barns in Dairy Valley would, four generations later, be one of the most respected contractors in Southern California. In construction, experience and dependability are the values that define a company. Our proof is in the numbers. We wouldn’t be here 85 years later, still family owned and operated, if we were committed to anything but excellence. We don’t build many dairies nowadays but we’re experts on constructing car dealerships, retail centers, and industrial complexes. We’ve built or remodeled nearly every dealership in the Cerritos Auto Square and more than 60 Home Depots in the Southland and beyond. Supermarkets are another specialty. We began with Market Basket stores in the 1960s and now, decades later, we can proudly claim Vons, Ralphs, Gelson's, Northgate González, and Vallarta as our clients. Over the years, we’ve earned awards but we’re more honored by the relationships with clients that have evolved into partnerships. They know that A. J.
