The Coordinating Center's care management services are accredited by URAC/American Accreditation HealthCare Commission, the national accreditation program through its Case Management Program. URAC is a non-profit organization that has issued more than 2,000 accreditation certificates to over 500 health care companies in the United States and Canada. The Coordinating Center is one of the few non-profit care management organizations to have received this honor. The accreditation process involves strict assessment of policies, procedures and practices in all aspects of the care management program. The Center was reaccredited in 2003 for a 3 year period. The Maryland Association of Non Profit Organizations' Standards for Excellence program measures the way in which non-profit organizations accomplish the stated mission. The Standards for Excellence program applies a stringent examination of program quality, board governance, financial operations and policies, fundraising and other accountability and ethical and accountability concerns. The Coordinating Center was one of the first 12 nonprofit organizations nationally to merit this recognition, and was recertified in 2003 for a 5 year period. Both programs have been in force consistently since the initial applications were made, with no gaps in certification of accreditation.
