The Australian Maritime College is a specialist institute of the University of Tasmania and is Australia's national institute for maritime education, research and training located in Launceston, Northern Tasmania. Our students enjoy access to the southern hemisphere’s most advanced collection of maritime facilities, including a fleet of training vessels; ship simulators; engineering workshops; firefighting, survival and damage control facilities; as well as the unique cluster of hydrodynamic facilities which include a towing tank, model test basin and cavitation tunnel. They gain skills that are in high demand and go on to work in fields as diverse as the shipping industry, oil and gas sector, and ports and logistics management. Their AMC qualifications are internationally recognised, which means their work can literally take them anywhere in the world.
