Across 100 miles of Los Angeles County, from San Pedro to Antelope Valley, 23 Ys engage nearly half a million men, women and children - regardless of age, income or background - to nurture the potential of children and teens, improve the nation's health and well-being, and provide opportunities to give back and support neighbors. Thanks to the L.A. Y's donors, policy-making volunteers and program volunteers, no one is turned away from the YMCA for inability to pay. Approximately 25% of member families receive financial assistance, with subsidies as high as 95%.
