Daycon was founded in 1942 by David A. Cohen, in Washington, D.C., as a regional supplier of janitorial and sanitary products. The company started with a $200 investment. One of its early accomplishments was the invention of Endust®.
Since then, Daycon has grown to become one of the largest regional cleaning and maintenance suppliers, manufacturers, and retailers on the East Coast. Corporate, branch, and retail locations throughout Maryland and Virginia service Washington D.C. and surrounding states.
Through the years, Daycon has always maintained a strong industry and community focus. Our initiatives have ranged from leadership in plastic bottle recycling, to job creation for visually impaired individuals, to sponsorship of kid's camps and elementary schools, to involvement in the cleanup and revitalization of downtown Washington, D.C.
Today, Daycon is a $50 million dollar plus company that manufactures and distributes its own name brand, offers a complete range of cleaning equipment and supplies, and a unique line of services and programs that include professional training, equipment repair and installation, integrated supply, team renovation services, and vendor managed inventory.
