Vala Sciences' combined software-and-reagent assays convert labor-intensive qualitative observations of biological changes that can take from days to months, into accurate measurements delivered automatically in minutes. The Vala Sciences executive and engineering team previously founded Q3DM, a San Diego-based company that developed the EIDAQ/IC-100 high throughput microscopy instrumentation and the CytoShop® software. Q3DM sold the technology to Beckman Coulter in December 2003 for manufacturing and worldwide distribution.
