The Northshore Fire Department provides emergency services to the communities of Kenmore, WA and Lake Forest Park, WA with a population of approximately 35,000. Fire Chief Jim Torpin leads the department of 49 employees operating from two fully staffed fire stations with shift personnel working a four platoon schedule. The Department not only responds to fire, EMS and rescue emergencies, but also provides a full range of non-emergency services including Fire Marshal/fire prevention, public education and professional training. All Northshore firefighters are Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and 12 are Technical Rescue Technicians (TRT). Each shift has a minimum of three TRT firefighters for 24/7 coverage for the District.
