Forico was established by New Forests to manage a plantation estate and forestry business purchased by a New Forests investment fund. The purchase included Tasmanian forestry assets previously owned and managed by Gunns Limited. Forico manages Tasmania's largest private hardwood plantation estate and uses advanced tree breeding for improved plantation and wood fibre quality. The Forico business includes: - 100,000 ha of timber plantations - 175,000 ha of freehold land - 2 woodchip mills - A high-quality seedling nursery - A fibre technology laboratory and testing facility - An experienced team of 35 professionals with extensive operating experience in Tasmania With these key assets and long-term port access, Forico has the supply chain infrastructure and export marketing capability in place to support efficient seed to port operations and fibre sales.
