About
Waikato District Health Board (DHB) is situated in the central North Island of New Zealand and plans, funds and provides health and disability support services to a population of more than 390,000, covering more than 21,000 square kilometres. It is 1 of 20 DHBs in New Zealand with a region that combines community and rural life all the way from northern Coromandel right close to Mt Ruapehu in the south, and from Raglan on the west coast to Waihi on the east. Waikato DHB leads regional cancer, MRI, trauma, emergency care coordination and screening services for the Midland health region of more than 830,000, and is currently leading the way in New Zealand with the implementation of SmartHealth (www.smarthealth.org.nz) – a free online platform that connects individuals with a range of health services using a smart phone, tablet device or home computer. Waikato DHB includes Waikato Hospital, Thames Hospital, Tokoroa Hospital, Te Kuiti Hospital, Taumarunui Hospital, and Tokoroa Hospital. It also offers a wide range of community-based and health promotion services. Waikato Hospital is one of New Zealand’s largest tertiary healthcare providers, with 600 inpatient beds, 22 operating theatres, an acute mental health facility, and a dedicated outpatient clinic and procedure centre. Whether you’re looking for a role in a major tertiary hospital or want to make a difference in one of our six rural communities, we have exciting opportunities to offer. Come and join us in the Waikato – a fantastic place for work and leisure.
