Tanzania Education Corporation (TEC) is a Boston based 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides financial and academic support for Tumaini Schools in Karatu, Tanzania. Tumaini was founded by a Tanzanian couple to bring high quality, holistic education to the district of Karatu. All classes are taught in English which gives the students a distinct advantage over students enrolled in government schools. Tumaini currently ranks within the top 1% of primary schools in Tanzania. Tumaini serves as a model for government schools in the area. TEC provides scholarships for children who would otherwise not be able to attend school through the Student Sponsorship Program.
