In June 2016, the province announced the extension of GO train service from Oshawa to Bowmanville that will include 4 new stations. Oshawa is well served by four Hwy 401 interchanges, the new extension of Hwy 407 to Oshawa and the new Hwy 412 that links Hwys 401 and 407. A further extension will extend Hwy 407 further east to Hwy 35/115 by 2020.
