Lakeridge Health is a community teaching site for Queen’s University’s family physician and pediatric residency programs and home to LHEARN (Lakeridge Health Education and Research Network), a hub for cutting-edge training, education and research.\n\nOshawa offers plenty of transit options locally and to Toronto and beyond, including bike lanes and trails. GO Train, GO Bus and VIA Rail travel directly from Oshawa west to Toronto, east to Ottawa and to a multitude of other destinations. In June 2016, the province announced the extension of GO train service from Oshawa to Bowmanville that will include 4 new stations. Oshawa is well served by four Hwy 401 interchanges, the new extension of Hwy 407 to Oshawa and the new Hwy 412 that links Hwys 401 and 407. A further extension will extend Hwy 407 further east to Hwy 35/115 by 2020.
