What Is rape-dvservices.org.au?

Rape & Domestic Violence Services Australia is an accredited, nationally focussed, not for profit organisation which has been working in the field of sexual, domestic and family violence since 1971. COUNSELLING We provide trauma specialist counselling for women and men affected by sexual, domestic and family violence. Our counsellors are all trauma specialists. This means they are experts on the impacts of sexual, domestic and family violence. They understand the impacts of violence and can work with each person in the way that suits them best. Our counsellors are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by telephone or online. We also support women whose trauma began in childhood through our face to face counselling services. These are based at community centres across NSW. TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES Our training and professional services draw on our decades working in the sexual, domestic and family violence sector. All our trainers and clinical staff are tertiary qualified and experienced psychologists, social workers or counsellors. Our programs are based on evidence and best practice, delivered by experienced educators and underpinned by adult learning principles. Our training and professional services programs cover four areas: Professional services Clinical supervision and organisation-wide vicarious trauma management. Practitioner training Training on trauma specialisation, complex trauma and vicarious trauma. Casework skills for domestic and family violence workers. Workplaces Training on responding to disclosures of violence, domestic violence policy development, and ethical leadership. Primary prevention Training on ethics, safety and respect around sex, and ethical leadership.
