XKL is a privately funded engineering company. Launched by Cisco Systems co-founder Len Bosack, XKL explores and develops new approaches and architectures for the communications industry. We identify problems in emerging network infrastructure before these problems are apparent to others, and we provide the solutions necessary for the future growth and development of the communications industry. We push the limits of technology, tools, and components. We break the rules; we test the unproven. We challenge tool and component vendors to meet our needs, and we work closely with them to ensure success. We take the time to develop innovative solutions to problems that were thought to be intractable. Our development programs emphasize architecture, not component technology. We are engineering for the most complex networks ever deployed, not just collections of boxes. Our goal is to provide more automated, more dynamically responsive approaches for network traffic management than today's labor-intensive traffic-shaping techniques.
