What Is World Energy?
World Energy was founded in 1998 by Gene Gebolys, who saw great potential in biodiesel in its early days. We began by serving state and federal government transportation fleets, then expanded our customer base by making the benefits of biodiesel more widely known. With leadership from Gene Gebolys and others, biodiesel gained growing acceptance. Numerous federal and state financial incentives were adopted to support this cleaner, renewable, domestic energy source. After establishing World Energy as the leading U.S. biodiesel supplier, we turned our attention to new markets. We were the first U.S. biodiesel company to undertake significant trade to Europe, and went on to open offices in South America and Southeast Asia. Today, World Energy is the most recognized biodiesel brand. Our commitment to excellence has been acknowledged by the Platts Energy Award as \"Global Downstream Business of the Year\" in 2005, and the U.S. Department of Energy Award as \"Outstanding National Stakeholder of the Year\" in 2004. World Energy is certified as a BQ-9000 producer by the National Biodiesel Board.
