WineBid.com was founded in March 1996 to make it possible for collectors to acquire fine and rare wines on the Internet. Traditional auction houses had long offered reliable, if not always convenient, marketplaces in which to acquire the world's most desirable wines. But by adapting the auction process to the Internet we believed we could bring the convenience and efficiency of the Internet to the buying and selling fine and rare wines. In September 1996, WineBid.com held its first Internet wine auction. Originally based in Chicago, WineBid.com in 1999 moved to Napa, California. In Napa we maintain a temperature controlled warehouse and a staff of experienced wine professionals. WineBid.com inspects every bottle of wine we auction to insure our customers receive a quality product. WineBid.com is the largest Internet wine auction with more than 25,000 registered users world wide. Our proprietary technology enables us to conduct auctions 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
