What Is Wiley X?

Wiley X was created in 1986 to produce shatterproof eye gear for U.S. Military Special Forces and Law Enforcement agencies nationwide. Shatterproof, Seleniteâ„¢, polycarbonate lenses define the ballistic qualities of their HVP (High Velocity Protection) Series. Some models have been tested to withstand a 12 gauge shotgun blast from 10 yards away, helping the company gain not only national but international notoriety. Wiley X Eyewear currently supplies the FBI, DEA, Army Rangers, Navy Seal Teams and Military Special Forces. Wiley X has supplied over 1 million frames to the 4 services protecting this great nation. Since 1990, Wiley X has taken a vigorous approach to promoting and advertising in retail markets. They have developed fashionably functional lines and gained tremendous recognition supplying eyewear to the motorcycle, mountain and street bike markets, as well as optical, boating and fishing markets across the country. Using their experience with Military Special Forces, lines like their Seal-Tekâ„¢ and Magna-Sealâ„¢ Series have made them a household name with sportsman who demand performance driven eyewear. "We're excited about our relationship with Army Racing," says Dan Freeman, V.P. of Marketing. "We felt like we needed to give something back. We are very proud of this sponsorship and we want the world to know it."
