Wild Impact (previously known as Africa Foundation) is a registered, non-profit organisation in South Africa that uplifts, up- skills and empowers rural communities primarily living adjacent to conservation areas.\n\nUsing methods developed in rural villages over the years, Wild Impact has partnered with 73 communities to provide support and assistance across Africa, from KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga in South Africa, to Tanzania and Kenya in East Africa, as well as Botswana, Mozambique and Namibia in Southern Africa.\n\nFounded in 1992, Wild Impact is an independent, non-profit, tax-exempt organisation registered in South Africa, Tanzania the United States and the United Kingdom.\n\nTogether with eco-tourism operators &Beyond and in consultation with the communities themselves, Wild Impact facilitates socio-economic development of rural communities, predominantly those living in or adjacent to conservation areas, which assists in the protection of Africa’s heritage.\n\nOur role is:\n\n•Facilitating the fulfilment of needs identified by communities\n•Communicating those needs to potential donors\n•Allocating and managing donor funds prudently\n•Working with community leaders and project champions\n•Accounting and reporting to our donors\n•Evaluating the short and long-term impacts of our projects\n\nWild Impact makes a measurable difference in the communities we are invited into and support. The projects we facilitate are based on two simple principles – community participation and local leadership.
