Wholesale Supply Group, Inc. was one of the first wholesalers-distributors to use computers extensively. Working with IBM systems, almost 30 years ago, they began using computers to help with inventory control and payroll. The company's largest asset is their inventory. Trying to manage that asset has been the greatest challenge they have faced. Computers have helped with ordering, purchasing and maintaining inventory control. All computer systems are developed in-house and all stores are on-line with the Corporate office in Cleveland. When a new branch opens, the manager moved in will be someone very familiar with the computer system. Wholesale Supply Group, Inc. has also excelled nationwide. In 1989 they were named among the top 100 wholesalers by "The Wholesaler", the premiere magazine of the industry. In 1993, "Supply House Times", giants of plumbing, heating, cooling and pipe distribution ranked them in the top 150 in the nation.
